The Tronsmart Apollo Bold ANC integrate state-of-the-art technologies in a compact and attractive body. They support the aptX codec, you can equalize the sound and the connectivity works very well. Are they worth it? In this review, we tell you about all its features so you can be the judge.

Design and construction quality

The Tronsmart Apollo Bold ANC headphones are made of hard plastic. They are available in black, with a copper-colored ring for an eye-catching touch. The outside has a softer finish and can reflect fingerprints, but they look great and feel sturdy.

They are designed to fit securely and isolate you from external noise thanks to the seal they create. Like most True Wireless In Ear headphones, the Tronsmart Apollo Bold come with different sized ear tips to ensure a good fit with any user. Unfortunately, the tips aren't much different in size. The fit is ideal for medium ear canals, but not so much for small ears.

They are not as small as other True Wireless earbuds, but they are compact. When testing them, we had no problems with fit and comfort. The charging case/base that comes with them is also very compact, and integrates an LED light that tells you the battery status. You can easily store it in your pockets.

The Tronsmart Apollo Bold is IP54 certified, which means it's water and dust resistant. You can use them to exercise thanks to the IP certification and secure fit. We tested them by performing exercises, and they remained secure and comfortable.

As for the controls, each earbud integrates touch sensors that allow you to manage playback, volume, change songs, answer calls and activate the personal assistant of your choice, such as Siri or Google. The package comes with a USB-A/USB-C charging cable, three different sized silicone ear cushions, user manual, warranty and a carrying case.

Functions and connectivity

The Tronsmart Apollo Bold ANC headphones work with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and integrate the Qualcomm QCC5124 chip, one of the best processors on the market. They support Qualcomm True Wireless Stereo Plus (TWS+) technology that improves battery performance in both cups. This feature keeps both cups connected to the source, and this reduces the power they need to transmit and receive audio.

The Apollo Bold integrate an LDS antenna in each cup, to improve transmission range. When testing them, we noticed that their connectivity surpasses in efficiency any other model in this price range. The signal remains stable, even through concrete walls.

Latency is very low. We tested them by watching some Netflix shows, and the audio always stayed in sync. You can also use them for gaming with minimal latency.

The Tronsmart Apollo Bold ANC headphones work with the company's app that lets you equalize the sound with four different settings. You can't create your own equalization, but it's a nice feature. Through the application, you can also update the headphones system.

ANC and call quality

The True Wireless Tronsmart Apollo Bold offer two sound modes. Ambient mode allows you to listen to ambient audio while wearing the headphones. Ambient sounds are captured through the microphones and transmitted to the headphones.

The other mode is ANC (active noise cancellation). This technology blocks up to 35 decibels of noise. We tested them and noticed that they reduce low, engine-like noises very well.

In total, the Tronsmart Apollo Bold integrate six microphones that work together to provide an enhanced noise cancellation performance. Likewise, the clarity of voices when making phone calls is remarkable. The microphones do a good job of filtering out external noise to improve call quality.

Autonomy

According to the company, the Tronsmart Apollo Bold have a battery life of up to seven hours with the ANC on, or 10 hours with the ANC off. That's a decent capability, although it doesn't compare to more expensive noise-cancelling wireless headphones.

However, the case provides additional charges for a total of 30 hours. The charging process takes about 3.5 hours. Somewhat slow, but not too annoying.

Sound quality

The Apollo Bold deliver a warm sound and emphasize bass. The amount and intensity of bass is surprising. They are ideal for playing contemporary genres, but not so much for classical music. The V-shaped sound profile emphasizes the bass and treble, while the mid-tones don't have such a strong presence.

The audio is pleasant, but we find the bass to be too loud. The tonal balance is neither faithful nor balanced. That said, the mid-tones sound full and well textured. The vocals, especially the low vocals, like those of Tom Waits, sound very good. Treble clarity is also good.

This model is tuned for bass lovers, and the performance is very decent. The instruments have good separation and the sound image is deep, although not very wide. You can use the Tronsmart Apollo Bold headphones for hours, without getting tired.

What do we like about the Tronsmart Apollo Bold headphones?

They are great value for money. They are robust, comfortable and the connectivity works flawlessly. They also have decent active noise cancellation, which is hard to find in a cheap True Wireless headset, although the LG Tone Free FN7 also offers it.

What don't we like?

Bass is heavily emphasized in the mix. They are perfect for genres such as hip hop, but the bass is too loud for more classic genres. In addition, the autonomy is not the best.

Conclusion

Tronsmart created a pair of headphones with a great price/quality ratio. Hybrid active noise cancellation works well and blocks most external noise. They are durable and have a good build quality for the price. The microphones also provide remarkable call clarity. Interested? Find the best prices on this link.
