Cons

No wired connection options, very strong bass.

Features Logitech G533 Headset:

  • Type: Over-Ear.
  • Connectivity: USB wireless transmitter.
  • Battery life: 15 hours.
  • Drivers: 40mm Pro-G.
  • Surround sound: DTS Headphone X.

The Logitech G533 Wireless is a more affordable and simpler version of the popular G933. They come without the lights and wired connectivity option. That said, they deliver excellent audio with very strong bass.

They have an attractive design and good build quality. They are compatible with Logitech G Hub software, which offers many customization options and useful features, such as a graphic equalizer. Thanks to their USB wireless transmitter, they work with minimal latency and are perfect for gaming. However, we do not recommend them if you need versatile headphones for everyday use.

Design

The Logitech G533 Gaming headset has a modern and simple design, but they do not integrate the G033 lights. That said, they are made of a hard, durable plastic. The cups and band are padded with a soft-touch fabric.

The ear cushions are not as thick as the Turtle Beach Elite Pro, but they feel comfortable and you can use them for hours. The cups completely surround the ears without touching them, and feel light.

The microphone of the Logitech G533 gaming headset is housed in a small retractable flexible metal boom , allowing you to easily adjust the position. When you do not need to use the microphone, you can rest it against the cup, so that it doesn't bother you. In addition, it's automatically muted.

Controls and connections are also located on the left cup. It integrates a power switch, a mic mute button, a volume control and the micro USB port for charging.

Connectivity, Microphone and Autonomy

It Transmits audio wirelessly via a USB transmitter. Unlike the G933, the Logitech G533 doesn't have a 3.5mm jack. This means that you will not be able to use it with your smartphone, MP3 player or tablet. However, they work perfectly for gaming.

Logitech designed the G533 as a gaming headset, and it works with Logitech G software. We tested it with a PlayStation 4 and it worked flawlessly. The system registers the headphones when the USB transmitter is connected. Since it doesn't have an auxiliary audio port, you will not be able to use it with the Xbox One.

The microphone is one of the most important components of a gaming headset, and the one that comes with the Logitech G533 offers good performance. When we tested it we perceived the voices clear and crisp, with no negative effects. If you want to record audio professionally, we recommend a separate microphone, but it's suitable for podcasts.

According to the company, the Logitech G533 Wireless has a battery life of up to 15 hours on a single charge. This capability is quite decent, so you would have to forget to plug it in for charging and perform a sick game marathon to run out of battery.

Logitech G533 gaming performance

Thanks to the sound profile with pronounced bass, the Logitech G533 Wireless excels in all types of games. Explosions and gunfire are perceived with great force, and the background soundtrack maintains a good presence.

Character voices get a little lost in very noisy environments, but it's not too significant. That said, the Logitech G533 doesn't allow you to adjust the audio levels and game chat from the headset, so you have to choose the levels before playing.

Like the G933, the G533 produces 7.1-channel virtual surround sound. This is achieved by playing with the balances on the 40mm drivers found in each cup. It doesn't create a true surround experience as it uses stereo drivers, but it does a good job with directionality and spatial imaging. It allows you to hear if your teammates are running ahead of you and follow the action better.

Music Listening Performance

You can also play your favorite music with the Logitech G533 Wireless. We regret that it doesn't integrate a 3.5mm jack, but it delivers great sound. It handles bass remarkably well without any distortion, even at the highest volume levels. The audio is very powerful, and the rhythmic accuracy surprised us.

Bass is emphasized in the mix. This is ideal for a gaming headset or PS4, but it's a little annoying in music with less strong bass. Bass can overshadow vocals and mid frequencies. However, you can equalize the sound profile using the Logitech Gaming app, but the bass still stands out.

Conclusion

The Logitech G533 is a comfortable gaming headset with a good price/performance ratio. It emits very strong bass and an ideal sound for playing. It also offers 7.1-channel virtual surround sound technology and good performance for listening to music.

We regret that it doesn't have a jack for wired connection of devices. Likewise, we would have liked a slightly more balanced sound. That said, they are perfect for gaming and are available for a more than fair price. Interested? Follow this link.
