Sony 3D Audio
One of the best features of the PlayStation 5 is 3D Audio, a kind of 4K for your ears. The Play 5's 3D Audio allows you to enjoy greater fidelity by improving the virtual positioning of sounds in the user's listening field.
Sony achieves this with Tempest 3D technology , the company's own surround audio mode, similar to Dolby Atmos. Thanks to 3D audio you can enjoy games with a more immersive experience through a PS5 headset.
All PlayStation 5 games can benefit from this technology. The audio processing on Sony's new console is far superior to that of the PS4, so the new games have better tools to create a more realistic and richer sound environment.
Most importantly, all PS5 headsets can use this technology, via the console's USB connection or by connecting them to the 3.5mm jack of the wireless DualSense controller. Most PS5 or PS4 headsets are compatible, so you don't need to throw away your old headset.
Wired or wireless PS5 headset?
Another important point to consider is the connectivity options offered by the PS5 headset you want to purchase. The PS5 wireless headphones are more versatile and comfortable, as they allow you to move around. Wired PS5 headsets are compatible with any device with a 3.5mm jack, and usually offer better sound than wireless headsets.
On the other hand, there are models that also offer Bluetooth connectivity for greater versatility. In this article, we review the best models with different connectivity options.
