Tips for buying Skullcandy headsets
When purchasing helmets, no matter how affordable they are, you should know what you need them for. Do you need an In-Ear headset for a cell phone or MP3 player? Are you looking for wireless headphones to listen to music at home or in the office? There are ideal headsets for every situation and need.
Types of headphones
In Culturasonora we wrote you a complete and detailed guide about all the headphones specifications you need to know. We don't want to give you a hard time, so we'll briefly tell you the basics about the different types of headphones that exist:
In-Ear headphones are small and are inserted directly into the ear canal. They are ideal for exercise or for those who need a lightweight, portable headset to wear anywhere. They can cause discomfort after a certain time and can be dangerous for our ears if we use them at very high volumes, but if you plan to use them for short periods they are perfect.
On-Ear (supra-aural) headphones have ear cups that rest on the ears. On-Ear headsets are more comfortable than In-Ear headsets and more portable than Over-Ear headsets. They are usually used to listen to music in solitude but not so much in noisy environments, as they do not isolate the sound very well.
Over-Ear (circumaural) headphones are the largest of the three. The cups fully cover the ears and are usually padded with softer materials. They are somewhat heavier and less portable than the On-Ear, but they are ideal for listening to music for long sessions and also offer better sound isolation, so you can use them in any environment.
Wireless connectivity
Today's Bluetooth technology offers you greater freedom of movement and many more connectivity options. Typically, wired headsets offer better sound quality, but today's best Bluetooth headsets can also produce exquisite audio. We recommend you opt for Bluetooth headsets if you need freedom of movement and portability.

A bit heavy, call quality is not the best.
Technical Characteristics:
- Types of headphones: Over-Ear.
- Battery: 40 hours.
- Wireless connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0.
- Weight: 312g
The Skullcandy Crusher Evo Wireless is a wireless headset that integrates a unique feature to increase bass response and customize the sound. They are an ideal upgrade for bass lovers.
Design:
On the outside, the Skullcandy Crusher Evo Wireless headphones look very similar to the previous model. They have a minimalist, elegant and sober design. They are available in black and gray. The cups have a good quality synthetic leather padding and have a foldable structure that allows you to store them easily. They come with a durable case made of nylon, surprising for a helmet in this price range.
These Skullcandy headphones are a bit heavy due to the large battery they integrate, but they feel comfortable in long sessions. The band does not generate uncomfortable pressure and the padding is soft to the touch. They integrate easy-to-use and good-sized physical buttons. It also integrates a microphone that allows you to answer calls and activate your favorite virtual assistant.
Sound:
The most striking feature of the Skullcandy Crusher Evo Wireless headphones is their unique ability to adjust the bass with the Sensory Bass system, but the personal audio adjustment function is just as important for performance. The Skullcandy application tracks your ability to hear certain frequencies at different volumes and provides you with an EQ that is optimized for you.
In the left cup we find the control to manage the bass output. If you are a bass lover, these Skullcandy headphones are for you. By raising the bass slider by only 20%, the bass is incredibly deep and strong, and we even feel the bass vibration in the headphones. and we have been able to listen to them very loud and deep.
However, even the most passionate bass lovers will not want to use this function at more than half its capacity, if they do not want to shatter their eardrums.
These Skullcandy Bluetooth headphones produce very good audio, beyond the Sensory Bass feature. When testing them with the custom EQ we noticed very clear highs that do not distort, while the mid tones maintain a good presence.
The sound offered by the Skullcandy Crusher Evo Wireless is perceived as wide and detailed. The spatiality and details are not as good as more expensive Bluetooth headsets, but it is very good for its price. The frequencies are well differentiated and clear.
Overall, the Skullcandy Crusher Evo Wireless headphones produce a high quality sound that is ideal for enjoying movies, games and contemporary music genres.
Connectivity:
The Skullcandy Crusher Evo Wireless headphones integrate Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and present no problem when playing music wirelessly. They have buttons that allow you to turn the headphones on or off, change songs, control volume, play or pause, answer calls and access your personal assistant.
The controls are intuitive and easy to use. The only drawbacks are the quality of the calls and that they do not allow you to synchronize two devices simultaneously. Voices when used as a handsfree are clear, but do not reduce ambient noise well.
Battery:
These Skullcandy Bluetooth headphones integrate a high performance battery. It can provide up to 40 hours of continuous playback. This is an amazing capability. In addition, they charge very fast thanks to the USB-C port.
Conclusion:
The Skullcandy Crusher Evo Wireless are solid mid-range Bluetooth headphones. They offer a warm and pleasant sound, are comfortable, attractive and integrate a remarkable battery performance. The bass function allows you to enjoy incredibly powerful bass and the custom sound adjustment works wonders. Interested? Check out the best prices on Amazon.

In music mode you will experience mid and high tones with great presence. Perfect for listening to any genre of music, they sound clear and do not distort at any volume level.
Bass response is not the best on the market, although Movie mode improves bass punch. Overall, they offer quite good sound quality for their price and are very comfortable.

Skullcandy Crusher ANC

Sound quality, adjustable bass and haptic effect, good microphone, can be used wired.

The sound profile is not the most faithful, the active noise cancellation is decent, but not the best.
Technical Characteristics:
- Types of headphones: Over-Ear.
- Battery: 24 hours.
- Wireless connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0.
- Weight: 311 gr.
All Skullcandy headphones are excellent value for money and most are very affordable. The Crusher ANCs are a bit pricey, but offer active noise cancellation, adjustable bass and haptic vibrations.
Design:
Crusher ANCs are available in black or red. These Skullcandy wireless headphones are Over-Ear (circumaural) type. Fully cover the ears. They have memory foam pads on the cups and headband that feel soft to the touch. The brand's logo is on both sides of the headband, but otherwise they keep the ornaments to a minimum. They are elegant and sober helmets that look premium.
The cups of these Skullcandy helmets integrate 40mm drivers that work with a frequency response of 20-20kHz. In addition, you can adjust the bass. On the left cup they feature a control for adjusting the haptic bass (bass vibrations, along with depth of depth and impact), a button for power and Bluetooth synchronization. They also have LED lights.
The right cup features buttons that allow you to manage playback, volume and change songs. Pressing on the external panel of the left cup for about five seconds activates the ambient mode to listen to external sound, and pressing the power button twice activates or deactivates the active noise cancellation.
Sound:
Active noise cancellation works very well with low frequencies. These Skullcandy helmets perform very well in environments such as train stations or airports. However, the results are not as good with loud or medium noises. The only negative in this department is that the ANC adds some sound, although it is not that annoying.
The integrated microphones work flawlessly. It captures voices cleanly. In terms of sound, the bass stands out for its depth and strength. At minimum level the bass is quite good and at maximum it is exaggerated. The sound profile is not very faithful, but it is pleasant. With the bass slider at mid level all tones sound detailed and clear.
Connectivity:
With the application of these Skullcandy headphones you can create a personal sound profile by performing a listening test, something very useful for those who have some kind of hearing loss. Unfortunately, it does not allow you to change the ANC or EQ, except for the bass.
They work with Bluetooth 5.0 technology and connectivity works smoothly. In addition, you can use them wired. The cable included in the package has an inline control to manage playback, answer calls, change songs and all functions.
Battery:
The company claims that the autonomy of these Skullcandy wireless headphones reaches 24 hours, although the results vary depending on the volume, ANC and bass levels you use. Battery performance is excellent, better than several of the best cheap Bluetooth headsets on the market, and it also charges very quickly.
Conclusion:
Skullcandy creates attractive and cost-effective products. The Skullcandy Crusher ANC headphones are one of the most expensive of the brand, but they are also very good. The bass function and haptic effect separate them from the competition. Noise cancellation is not the best on the market, but they perform well in any environment. Skullcandy Uproar bluetooth

Attractive, affordable, comfortable, bluetooth connectivity.

They overemphasize the bass and cannot be used in wired mode.
Technical Characteristics:
- Types of headphones: On-Ear.
- Battery life: 10 hours.
- Wireless connectivity: Bluetooth.
- Weight: 209 gr.
The Skullcandy Uproar Wireless headphones are wireless headphones that look cool on the outside and offer good performance on the inside at a fairly affordable price. Bass is somewhat emphasized in the mix, but the sound quality exceeded our expectations.
Design:
Skullcandy Uproar headphones are available in a variety of eye-catching colors to suit any user and have a simple and attractive design. The build quality is good, although not excellent. They are made of plastic and have synthetic leather padding on both the headband and the cups.
These Skullcandy On-Ear headphones feel solid, rugged and lightweight. They squeeze a little when first worn, but only for a moment. They can cause some pressure during long listening sessions due to the tightness of the headband, but it is not very noticeable. Overall, they are very comfortable and attractive helmets. We would have liked to see a folding structure for easy portability, but they still have a compact design.
Sound:
The sound offered by the Skullcandy Skullcandy Uproar headphones is quite good considering the price at which they are available. Like many of the company's wireless headphones, the Uproar wireless headphones feature a sound profile with emphasized bass. This is annoying if you're looking for sound fidelity, but it's something many people look for, especially those who plan to use them outdoors. They perform very well when playing bass-heavy genres, such as hip-hop or electronic music, but not so well for critical listening at home.
The Skullcandy Uproar headphones offer a quite pleasant sound, even though they overemphasize the bass. They do not distort, even when using maximum volumes, and all tonalities are perceived clear and with good details.
Connectivity:
These Skullcandy helmets integrate Bluetooth connectivity and the synchronization process is very simple. Once you pair them with your mobile device the headphones will automatically reconnect when they come into connection range, as long as they are turned on. They come with only the charging cable and user manual, but this is understandable given the price at which they are available.
They integrate a microphone and two buttons to control volume and song selection. They also feature a multi-function button to handle calls, playback, power and Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, they do not have a port to connect an audio cable, so they can only be used in Bluetooth mode.
Battery:
Skullcandy claims a battery life of up to 10 hours of continuous playback. This capacity is quite decent, but varies according to the volume levels you use.
Conclusion:
The cheap Skullcandy headphones are an excellent choice for anyone looking for an attractive, comfortable and affordable pair of wireless headphones.
Skullcandy headphones reviews: They offer pretty good sound considering their price, although they emphasize the bass too much for our taste. To see the best prices on Amazon, click here.
Skullcandy Push Ultra

Moldable, water resistant, affordable hooks.

They do not seal the ear canal and this affects the sound.
Technical Characteristics:
- Types of headphones: In-Ear.
- Battery: 6 hours (40 with case).
- Wireless connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0.
- Weight: – .
The Skullcandy Push Ultra earphones are an affordable and comfortable Ture Wireless. They do not fully seal the ear canal and this affects sound quality, but they are a good, inexpensive and resistant option.
Design:
The Skullcandy Push Ultra headphones are one of the most comfortable True Wireless headphones we've tested in this price range. Theycan be worn for hours without causing discomfort as they do not completely seal the ear canal. This causes some problems with the audio, but they can be used for hours without causing discomfort.
They are attractive sports helmets. They are available in black, light blue and yellow. The Skullcandy Push Ultra earphones have integrated moldable ear hooks to keep them snug for any activity. In addition, they are IP67 certified. They are resistant to sweat, dust and salt water. They can even dive a little.
They feature controls on both cups to manage volume and change songs. Both cups have a multifunction button to control power, playback and answer calls. If you press them three times you can also activate your personal assistant, and if you press it twice you can switch between three different equalization modes. The buttons are easy to use and very responsive.
Sound:
The Push Ultra features 12.5mm drivers that work with a frequency response of 20-20kHz. They do not create a complete seal in the ear canal and therefore bass should be emphasized. However, bass strength varies according to the setting. On the other hand, this design allows you to hear the surrounding noise. This is useful in certain environments, but models that integrate a microphone for ambient technology are better.
That said, the Skullcandy Push Ultra's offer very decent sound quality. They produce deep bass, provided you get the right setting, and do not distort at any volume level. The treble is crisp and the mid-tones have a good presence. The vocals and instruments sound clear and with good detail.
The microphone is decent. We tested it and noticed some Bluetooth distortion, but the voices are clear.
Connectivity:
The Skullcandy Push Ultra headphones integrate Bluetooth 5.0 technology that allows them to connect wirelessly without problems over a fairly wide range. Wireless connectivity works great for listening to music, but they have above-average latency, so they are not recommended for watching TV or gaming (for these uses we recommend checking out the wireless TV headphones and gaming headsets).
The Skullcandy app, available for iOS and Android devices allows you to view the EQ mode and find the headphones with Tile.
Battery:
Skullcandy claims that the built-in battery of these wireless headsets can last up to six hours. However, they come with a charging case/base that gives you an additional 34 hours, although capacity varies according to volume. They charge quickly thanks to the USB-C port.
Conclusion:
The Skullcandy Push Ultra headphones are attractive, rugged and offer decent sound quality. They are also one of the most comfortable In-Ear headphones we have tested.
Skullcandy headphones reviews: We don't recommend them for noisy environments, but they are an excellent affordable option if you are looking for cheap wireless headphones. Have we convinced you? Find the best prices on Amazon.
Skullcandy Sesh

Inexpensive, fit well in the ear, good choice for exercise.

The battery is limited, the controls are not the best.
Technical Characteristics:
- Types of headphones: In-Ear.
- Battery: 3 hours (10 with charger).
- Wireless connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0.
- Weight: – .
The Skullcandy Sesh headphones are an affordable In-Ear True Wireless headphones. They are splash and dust resistant, fit well and offer decent sound. The battery is not the best, but they are pretty good for exercise.
Design:
Skullcandy Sesh helmets look good. They have an attractive design and fit nicely in the ear. They are IP55 certified against sweat and dust, so you can use them for exercise. They are comfortable for an In-Ear headset and come with four different tips to suit any user.
Each cup integrates a physical button that allows you to control playback, volume, change songs and activate your personal assistant. The controls are not the best when you are on the move and do not compare to the best models.
Like most True Wireless headsets, they come with a case that doubles as a charging base. The tablet-shaped case has a horizontal design and can be handled with one hand. On the front it integrates a button that indicates the battery status with four LED lights. On the rear side there is a micro USB port for charging.
Sound:
These Skullcandy headphones sound pretty good considering their price. The sound balance emphasizes the bass, which has the extra punch that people who exercise while listening to music are looking for. The bass sounds too much for our taste. The mid-tones are not as well defined as those of more expensive Bluetooth headsets, but they sound clear and maintain a good presence. Treble leaves something to be desired in terms of detail and intensity.
The Skullcandy Sesh headphones offer good sound performance for exercise or street use, but they are not the best models for critical music listening. The separation between frequencies is not noticeable either, but overall the sound details are decent for a cheap headset and the sound does not lose quality at high volumes. As for calls, the microphone works reasonably well, but is not spectacular.
Connectivity:
The Skullcandy Sesh headphones integrate Bluetooth 5.0 technology and have a good connection range. They support the basic SBC audio codec, but do not work with aptX.
Battery:
The integrated battery of the Skullcandy Sesh headphones provides up to three hours of continuous playback. On the other hand, the case provides you with additional charges for a total of 10 hours. This capability is limited compared to other True Wireless.
Conclusion:
If you're looking for an affordable pair of wireless headphones for hitting the gym or general use, the Skullcandy Sesh is a good choice.
Skullcandy reviews: You can spend more on a pair of sports helmets if you want better sound, but in this price range the Skullcandy Sesh stand out and take the cake. These wireless headphones are comfortable, practical and offer decent sound. If you want to see the best prices on Amazon, follow the link.

Treble detail leaves something to be desired.
Technical Characteristics:
- Types of headphones: In-Ear.
- Battery: No.
- Wireless connectivity: No.
- Weight: 11.52g.
Skullcandy's Ink'd Plus headphones are very affordable, have a good design and come with different sized ear cushions to fit any user. They offer acceptable sound for their price and cancel external noise quite well. They are among the best and most popular cheap In-Ear headphones on the market.
Design:
Skullcandy's Ink'd Plus have one of the most attractive designs among cheap In-Ear headphones and come in a variety of attractive colors. They are made of plastic and have a tangle-resistant cable. They are not elegant but they remain fixed and are lightweight. They can be worn for hours without causing discomfort.
Three additional pads of different sizes and colors are included in the purchase package. The oblique angle of the cups adjusts perfectly to any user. Ear cushions of different sizes are necessary in In-Ear headphones as they help to cancel external noise and at the same time avoid the need to use the headphones at volumes that are dangerous for our ears.
Sound:
These Skullcandy headphones have an impedance of 16 ohms and work with a frequency range of 20 to 20KHz. The sound profile offers powerful and aggressive bass, but the other tonalities maintain a decent presence. The mids are a bit weak compared to the bass and the treble details are somewhat poor, but this is to be expected as these are very inexpensive headphones.
The sound quality is not excellent, but for their price range they are very good. They do not distort, even at very high volumes.
These Skullcandy headphones are ideal for use in noisy environments. They don't have active noise cancellation technology, of course, but the shape of the cups and ear pads block ambient sounds remarkably well. For this reason they are among the most popular cheap In-Ear headphones on the market, as they can be used in gyms, on the streets or anywhere.
Connectivity:
The audio cable with 3-5mm output integrates a remote control that allows you to play/pause, fast forward/rewind songs and answer calls. The cable of these Skullcandy headphones also integrates a microphone that can be used to receive or make phone calls.
Conclusion:
The Skullcandy Ink'd Plus is an inexpensive In-Ear headset with an excellent price-performance ratio. The design is attractive, they are comfortable and attenuate external noise significantly. They also offer a very decent sound considering their price. If you're just looking for an inexpensive and versatile option, the Skullcandy Ink'd Plus is the one for you.
